In Ponte Leccia, a high-altitude village located at the crossroads of the roads leading to Bastia, Ajaccio and Calvi, Clos Venturi is one of the most recent estates in Corsica. It comes from the detachment, in 2005, of the best terroirs of the Vico estate, where Jean-Marc and Manu Venturi also produce, on 77 hectares, more technical wines of great diffusion and a good quality-price ratio. A lot of work has been done at Clos Venturi: replanting of indigenous grape varieties, organic farming and use of indigenous yeasts. The cellar is remarkably well equipped (barrels, vats and eggs; wood, concrete, stainless steel).
It is to the enterprising Manu Venturi that we owe the rebirth of the mountainous region of Ponte-Leccia, situated between 260 and 360 m of altitude at the foot of the highest peaks of the island. Very far from the sea!
His family took over the vineyards of the Vico estate in 1987, restructuring and modernising the vineyard and the cellar, and isolating the Clos Venturi, a formidable enclosure on which old vines have been replanted. In this gelatinous area, he has created some of the freshest and most complex wines of the island's vineyards, whose quality continues to improve.
Alongside these elite micro-cuvées, the level of Domaine Vico's wines should be applauded, particularly the Le Bois du Cerf cuvées, offered at low prices and produced in large volumes, which are ambassadors of the talent of this visionary winemaker.
This fresh and fragrant wine is crisp, juicy and greedy, accessible and delicate in texture.
Mostly made from nielluccio, this wine draws all its finesse and balance from it. Quite incisive and salivating, this wine presents a mellow fruit and a nice persistence.
Made from the Corsican grape variety biancu gentile, this wine is nicely aromatic, between broom and spices. It is enhanced by a touch of curry.Broad but well-crafted palate
