The Foursquare distillery is quite new. It was founded in 1996 by Richard Seale, on the site of an old sugar factory in Barbados.
But it was a quick success, and the catalogue of references is constantly growing: Dominus, Empery, Sagacity, Redoutable... So many creations that unleash the passions of a large community of followers. In particular the Exceptional Cask Selection range, which, as its name suggests, brings together exceptional vintages. The vintages are also remarkable: 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009...
It is fair to say that in record time, Foursquare has become a venerable institution!

The Foursquare distillery in St. Philip, one of the best and most modern distilleries in the Caribbean, produces rums with stills that operate under vacuum, which reduces the temperature required to boil the rum, thus avoiding the loss of subtle natural flavours.
Foursquare has also been designed to be energy efficient and has the most advanced recycling and waste disposal system on the island.
Foursquare rums are traditional rums, made from molasses, using original processes. They undergo a long fermentation process before being distilled. To do this, Foursquare has 2 stills. A three-column still, used for light rums, and a second, Charentais-type still, reserved for the stronger rums. They are then aged for 2 years in oak barrels with spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, and are bottled without the addition of sugar or colouring.
Foursquare Rum Distillery, which produces Doorly's, Sixty Six, R.L. Seale's and Foursquare rums, makes a point of working to produce its rums with great respect for nature.
The Foursquare distillery also has a range of very aged premium rums distributed by Velier.
Owner R.L. Seale works closely with Luca Gargano to create exceptional rums.
