Renegade Rum Distillery, a modern marvel precisely designed to exalt the individuality of terroir, the purity of extended fermentation, and thoughtful and rigorous distillation.

Mark Reynier's ambition to produce rum was more than 10 years in the making. In 2015, he visited Grenada in the West Indies and decided to build a brand new distillery there. As he had already done with Waterford (a whisky distillery in Ireland), he wanted to highlight the local terroir by emphasising the traceability of his products. With the help of local partners, he started growing sugar cane. The project is unprecedentedly ambitious: he now has 93 hectares under cultivation, divided into 12 farms, on 45 different terroirs!

In September 2020, the Renegade distillery (anagram of Grenada) will begin operations. More than a production tool, Renegade is almost a utopia. Not only does it offer expressions that highlight each parcel of cane; the distillery also relies on phytoremediation, a technology that allows, among other things, air purification, wastewater purification and soil decontamination.
