Located on the right bank of the Rhone, near Valence, the town of Cornas is a "Grand Terroir".
Exceptional micro-climate, granitic, old vines are superb assets for success of wines.
Laurent and Dominique Courbis operate vineyards on steep slopes, in St. Joseph and Cornas appellation in the Cotes du Rhone.
The wines are elegant and delicate while developing some power.
Grape:
Syrah
"Foot of the hill", from very old vines (planted in 1919), with an area of 2.5 ha, with a plot of fifteen years or in any 4.3 ha for this wine.
About 20,000 bottles an average yield of about 37 hl / ha.
Ageing:
New barrels (15%), 1 wine barrels (70%), 2 barrels of wine (15%).
Bottling after 16 months of aging.
