The Hampden distillery is equipped with four still double devious pot still stills: the first (John Dore), with a capacity of 7,560 litres, was installed in 1960; the second (Vendôme), with a capacity of 18,900 litres, in 1994; the third (Forsyth), with a capacity of 18,900 litres, in 2010 and the last (TNT), also with a capacity of 18,900 litres, in 2016.
The slow distillations that last about seven hours give birth to a rich and powerful new make that titles out of the still 82 %
LROK (Light Rum Owen Kelly) is the most balanced mark in terms of non-alcoholic particles (congeners). We are talking about 300 to 400 grams/hlaap ester.
This version of the 2010 vintage is an LROK, a "light" rum while gluttony that takes typical characteristics of the Hampden distillery such as roasted pineapple, a slight volatile touch, fresh vegetable notes.
