Cap Mattei can pride itself on being the emblematic aperitif of the Isle of Beauty since 1872.
Cap Mattei is an aperitif that was invented by Louis Napoleon Mattei in 1872. Since its creation, thanks to its unique recipe based on mistelle and botanicals, it has been a real success and not only on the Isle of Beauty where it was born. It was awarded numerous medals at the beginning of the 20th century.
Forgotten for a while, in 2016, three partners gave a new impetus to the brand by relying on the original recipes of Louis Napoléon Mattei.
Vermouth of Corsican origin strengthened with macerations of plants and cinchona bark. It is the result of a blend of Corsican mistelle with exotic botanical extracts.
With its unique personality, both sweet and bitter, Cap Mattei Rouge has quickly become the cult aperitif of Cap Corse. It stands out thanks to its exclusive recipe: it is made from an exquisite Corsican mistelle which is blended with exotic botanical extracts including the famous Cinchona bark, a source of quinine.
It owes its success above all to a skilful dosage of the various ingredients which gives it perfect balance. This elegant aperitif wine is best enjoyed on the rocks with orange zest.
