Nicolas Badel, unlike his neighbors, is not the descendant of a family of winegrowers. For seven years, Nicolas worked in a design and methods office. The desire to work in the vineyard, however, imposed itself. He therefore quickly decided to change direction and farm vines for hire with his cousin Sylvain Badel. For two years, they carry out their daily trades as well as that of viticulture, which they exercise on Fridays and Saturdays.
Nicolas started planting his own vines in 2008 and it was finally in 2010 that he vinified his harvest, now working his passion full time. The estate is made up of nearly seven hectares of vines, including three in Vernosc, planted with Marsanne and Syrah, and four hectares in Limony, planted with Viognier and Syrah, to produce white and red Saint-Joseph and Condrieu. Everything is organically grown, there was no need for conversion for the lands of Vernosc, as they had been unused for long enough. This man-sized vineyard allows him to be precise in his work in the vineyard. It masters adapted grassing, working the soil on the row, green harvesting and stimulating the vines' immune defenses. The grapes then benefit from a demanding accompaniment until bottling.
