If they are not at least twenty years old, the Calvados from Maison Drouin are blended, bottled and marketed as blends. Benefiting from a wide choice of barrels: cider, calvados, port, jerez barrels ... these blends offer an incomparable palette and aromatic richness.
Made from double distillation, this 100% apple calvados is aged for a minimum of 5 years in recent barrels (3 wines) for a maximum of 6 months, then 4 to 5 years in 15-year-old barrels.
The VSOP opens with aromas of ripe apples mixed with sweet spices, vanilla and cinnamon, supple, harmonious and all round.
Style: Balanced, fresh and generous. Nose: Fruity (citrus fruit, prune), gingerbread. Palate: Woody more present, sweet spices. Overall: Harmonious and fruity. Medicinal tip.
