Located within a triangle bounded by Carcassonne, Narbonne and Béziers, the Minervois vineyards stretch across terraces covering 18,000 hectares, of which 5,000 are under cultivation.
The grape varieties :
Mourvèdre and Syrah bring all their aromatic complexity and finesse to Grenache Noir, Carignan and Cinsault for red and rosé wines.
The white grape varieties :
Grenache, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Marsanne, Roussanne, Maccabeu, Rolle and Muscat.
The eastern Minervois produces structured reds with a beautiful blackcurrant hue.
The central region yields distinguished wines with aromas of wild berries, whilst the whites are fresh and rich in floral aromas.
In the west, the reds are lively, with notes of violet.
At higher altitudes, the reds are full-bodied, whilst the lively, aromatic whites are very well-balanced
