Founded in the heart of the Wachau Valley, Weingut Emmerich Knoll is one of Austria’s most prestigious wine estates. Based in Unterloiben for several generations, the Knoll family continues to uphold a level of expertise recognised worldwide. Through meticulous viticulture and winemaking that respects the terroir, the estate produces wines of great precision, renowned for their balance, aromatic complexity and exceptional ageing potential.
The estate cultivates some of the finest plots in the Wachau, a region listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Among the most renowned vineyards are Loibenberg, Kellerberg, Schütt, Kreutles and Pfaffenberg, where the gneiss soils, steep terraces and the influence of the Danube provide ideal conditions for the grape varieties to express their full potential.
Weingut Emmerich Knoll is distinguished primarily by two iconic Wachau grape varieties: Grüner Veltliner, with its aromas of citrus, white fruit, spices and damp stone; and Riesling, renowned for its finesse, minerality, tension and remarkable ageing potential. The estate also produces, in smaller quantities, Gelber Muskateller, Chardonnay and other traditional Austrian grape varieties.
