The Yamazaki - Distiller's Reserve

Rich and exuberant, Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve is part of Suntory's latest range of single malts.
There are three main elements to this single malt; a "young talent" and two "veterans". The "young talent" is a whisky less than 10 years old that has been matured in French Bordeaux wine casks and has exceptional aromatic qualities despite its youth. To bring complexity and body while respecting the Yamazaki signature, the blenders chose whiskies aged in sherry casks and over 20 years old. Finally, to harmonise this very contrasting blend, a whisky aged in Japanese oak casks, the precious mizunara, was selected to enrich Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve with typically Japanese spicy notes.
Tasting notes :
Colour: gold with amber highlights.
Nose: aromas of cherry and white peach, complemented by spicy notes including Japanese incense, ginger and a hint of cinnamon.
Palate: delicate flavours of strawberry and coconut.
Finish: long and precise on sweet vanilla with a hint of cinnamon.
