L'Anqueven

Le Souffle des Anges 2019

Vin de France

Languedoc

Small domain of 7 hectares in Languedoc, in Adissan, near Pézenas. Frédéric Fages produces a single red wine, a rosé and 2 Cartagens there. The wines are produced as naturally as possible with very little sulphites, with native yeasts and without wood. An originality comes from the presence of the atypical Petit-Verdot grape, blended with southern grape varieties (Syrah, Grenache Noir and Carignan). The Anqueven estate is part of an organic farming approach (conversion).

Grape varieties:

30% Syrah, 30% Petit Verdot, 20% Grenache Noir and 20% Carignan.

Tasting Notes:

The color is red, frank, with ruby reflections. The nose is very intense, fruity, with a spicy, slightly peppery side. In the mouth, we find more the fruity side, with red fruits such as blackberries, but also chocolate notes. The wine is round, the tannins present and well integrated, and the acidity is well controlled, bringing both a fresh side without being nervous, but with a tension that will keep this wine for a few years.
Wine style:

Round and fruity red wine.

Food and wine :
