Single Malt Whisky

Ecosse - Speyside

Created on the site of an old chapel, the Longmorn distillery was founded by John Duff and two partners, Charles Shirres and George Thomson in 1894. The history of the distillery begins during the Industrial Revolution, John Duff seized the opportunity to export Scotch. The railroad built by the founder arrived at the distillery's doorstep and brought Longmorn whiskey to the four corners of the world.
Longmorn is one of the few distilleries that have never stopped production.

The distillery is known for its large, smooth stills, which allow for a lower filling level, thus increasing the contact with the copper during distillation. This process is known by the distillers as the "kiss of the copper", thus reaping the benefits of the local spring water.

Longmorn is renowned for the quality of its malt and its naturally fruity and gourmet character.

The Longmorn distillery remains rather discreet with these official bottlings because a good part of its production is requested for blends, in particular for the aged blends of Chivas.
There are however some exceptions, notably this rare Longmorn 18 year old.

This whiskey is aged in American oak barrels made of barrels and hogsheads and is bottled without chill filtration.
