A nice aromatic definition. The nose is accurate with this mineral smoke sensation.
It has a volcanic footprint that communicates more race and a weary, long-haired mouth frame.

Vassaltis
Nassitis 2018
Cyclades PGI
Greece - Santorini
Vassaltis is the last estate to be built on the island of Santorini in 2015. It is run by one of the island's youngest entrepreneurs, Yannis Valabous, and is located in Vourvoulos on the coastal road that leads to Ola in the northwest of the island.
The history of the estate really begins in the 1980s when Yannis' father bought a house on the island of Santorini with 4.5 hectares of vines. After a brief career in finance, Yannis returned to the country in 2010 at the height of the economic crisis determined to contribute to the country's recovery. Together with Élias Roussakis and Yannis Papaeconomu, he founded Vassaltis in 2015.
The name Vassaltis means basalt in Greek. It is the rock that forms after the rapid cooling of the lava. The estate has captured the essence of Santorini's terroir with chiseled, saline, mineral and complex wines. Production is about 50,000 bottles per year.
