Weingut Friedrich Becker

Spätburgunder 2016

Allemagne - Palatinat rhénan

The Friedrich Becker Estate is currently in the hands of Friedrich Becker Sr. and Friedrich Becker Jr. It is located in Chweigen, on the French-German border. Two-thirds of the vineyards are in an area that now belongs to France.
Friedrich Becker Sr. succeeded his father in 1973. From the beginning he stopped selling grapes to the local cooperative and started bottling and selling his own wines. He also started to use barrels for his pinot noir, in parallel with Dr. Heger, Fürst, Johner, Meyer-Näkel and other winemakers who are known for their pinot noir red wines.
In order to obtain intensely fruity wines, yields are strictly limited.
