Gordon & MacPhail's bottled version of a 13 year old from the Coal Ila distillery on Islay.
Located in the northeast of Scotland, in the heart of the famous whisky-producing region of Speyside, Gordon & MacPhail is an independent, family-owned company that has been bottling single malts for over 120 years. From its humble beginnings as a retailer, Gordon & MacPhail has grown into a diverse and dynamic company with a number of different business interests. Today, the company is a retailer, wholesaler, exporter, bottler of Scottish single malts and distiller, owning Benromach Distillery in Forres. Gordon & MacPhail is owned and operated by the third and fourth generation of the Urquhart family and employs over 130 people.
Specially selected for the Discovery Series, this Single Malt is rich in fruit and peat smoke.
Tasting notes:
Nose: aromas of sweet vanilla and dried meat.
Taste : Smoky and peaty nuances completed by apple and apricot.
Finish: ripe banana, kiwi and vibrant notes of fresh citrus, leading to a long, sweet and smoky finish. The peat, already present on the nose, becomes more and more expressive on the palate to finish the tasting with notes of ash and roasted vanilla.
