Hand-harvested Pinot Noir from chalk and flint soils. Aged mainly in foudres with some neutral French oak barrels. While other producers see red sancerre as a side job, it is a high priority at Domaine Vacheron, with great care and attention given to the raw material. The result is a delicious red sancerre.

               

Terroir:

50% Eocene flint, 50% Jurassic limestone.

Grape varieties :

100% pinot noir

Tasting notes:

Cherry, raspberry, smoky. Juicy, dense and fruity on the palate. Fresh length on the fruit and spices. Very natural expression of a tasty flesh!

Wine style :

Fine and complex red wine.

Food and wine pairing :

Venison with caramelised quince and Java pepper, mashed potatoes. Back of cod in a red fruit crust, parsnip mousseline with hazelnuts.
