D'Arenberg
The Stump Jump 2016
Mc Laren Vale
Australie - Australie méridionale
D'Arenberg is one of McLaren Vale's most important properties. Founded in 1912 by Joseph Osborn, this property has been passed down from generation to generation. Chester Osborn joined the company in 1984 as Cellar Master.
D'Arenberg cultivates his vineyard (as well as the suppliers' vineyards) in a reasoned way: minimal or no irrigation, no fertilizers, use of biodynamic preparations and the lunar calendar (with the advice of Biodynamics Australia) ... practical in the cellars, d'Arenberg is the only estate to use a screw press for both white and red wines.
Grape varieties:
60% grenache noir, 20% syrah and 20% mourvèdre.
Tasting Notes:
Each grape variety brings its own typicity to offer a pleasurable cuvée. The Syrah gives it the characteristics of black plums, blackberries and licorice and silky tannins. Grenache noir gives it smoothness with aromas of raspberries and blueberries. In addition, these two varieties give it a little peppery undertones. Mourvèdre gives aromas and flavors of red fruits and fine-grained tannins.
Wine style:
Powerful and complex red wine.
Food and wine :
Roasted duck breast, potato tatin with smoked duck breast. Bigorre black pork tenderloin, squid ink spaghetti.
Aging potential in your cellar:
6 years
Analytic :
75 cl - 14.5% volume
Contains sulfites
