Tasting notes :

The colour is an intense ruby red with violet hues. The nose is peppery, rich in aromas of spices, garrigue, blackcurrant and blackberry.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and tannic, yet very rounded, with lovely fleshiness, minerality and an expression of heady black fruits, finishing with a spicy note.

Food and wine pairings :

Lamb tagine with lemon and black olives.
Duck fillets glazed with orange and ginger.

Presentation :

In 2001, Yves Falmet planted three plots of Mourvèdre, totalling 4 hectares, on his hillsides.
This grape variety thrives here as it requires sunshine and water, two elements it finds naturally in this terroir.
A late-ripening variety that tends to overripen in production, it only reaches full maturity if cultivated with expertise and on the rare soils that are suited to it.
