The Clos Marie estate is a must-visit in the Pic Saint-Loup appellation, located north of Montpellier in the Languedoc region.
Founded in 1995 by Françoise Julien and Christophe Peyrus, the estate covers 22 hectares at an altitude of 650 metres and benefits from an ideal temperature range for the ripening of the grapes.
The limestone terroir of Pic Saint-Loup, combined with rigorous viticultural practices, gives Clos Marie wines a unique identity and exceptional quality.
Clos Marie has been certified organic since 2010 and applies biodynamic principles. The vines are grown at high density, trained in the goblet style, with meticulous soil management and careful manual work. Vinification is natural, with no oenological additives, and ageing takes place in vats, casks or barrels, depending on the cuvée.
Clos Marie is acclaimed by critics for the delicacy and precision of its wines. The estate has been awarded 2 stars in the Revue des Vins de France (RVF) Wine Guide and receives high scores in the Bettane & Desseauve guides, as well as in the RVF.
The Simon cuvée is the estate's flagship. This wine is revealed during the tasting to deliver a rare delicacy and elegance.
