Worthy Park

2006 - Single Estate Reserve

Jamaïque

Worthy Park is the oldest distillery in Jamaica. Between 1879 and 1899, Worthy Park sold more rum than sugar, of which Jamaica was the leading supplier in the world. The distillery closed in the 1950s, following an agreement with the Spirits Pool Association, to curb the overproduction of Jamaican rum.
It reopened in 2005, developing a variety of products for its own use, including Rum-Bar, Worthy Gold, Rum-Bar Rum Cream and Rum-Bar Vodka, which are now very successful.
The factory has been modernized considerably, including one of the few automated stills in the world that can produce up to 4,000 liters of rum per day and has a system for monitoring the distillation process.
Now thriving, Worthy Park exports light, medium and heavy rum in bulk, in containers of up to 25,000 liters.
As part of Jamaica's historical and cultural identity, Worthy Park has become a popular stop for tourists from around the world.

Worthy Park's first official vintage bottling is a subtle nugget of jammy fruit and fine oak. This 2006 Single Estate Reserve rum, distilled in copper Forsyths stills, is 12 years old. Benefiting from an exclusive ageing in a tropical climate in old bourbon barrels, it offers a seductive aromatic palette embellished by a cask strength bottling at 56°. The fruit dominates (pineapple, pear, red fruit notes, ...), the vegetal (lemongrass) is delicate and the wood finely integrated: a magnificent cocktail for a distillery in the making!
