Domaine de Bon Augure

Son and grandson of winegrowers, Cédric Guy grew up among the vines of the AOC Faugères, land of great red wines.

The Domaine de Bon Augure was certainly born from a dream, but it is still a somewhat crazy dream to create an estate ex nihilo on a mountain vineyard, which is little-known !

Created in 2013, Domaine de Bon Augure today has nearly nine hectares of vines, planted on steeply sloping hillsides by a farmer from the village of Joncels in the early 1990s.

There are six in Chardonnay, a rare grape variety at such a low latitude but perfectly adapted to the terroir of the Haute-Vallée de l'Orb, one in Petit Manseng and one in Pinot Noir to which are added a few rows of Grenache Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Petite Arvine.

"Our credo: we only command nature by obeying its rules. This is why we have chosen organic viticulture, refusing any chemical input. Each gesture is thus measured, useful and precise. Manual work is pushed to the extreme to remain in permanent contact with the plant in order to anticipate the appearance of diseases and parasites. Likewise, we encourage the nesting of useful predators, such as birds or bats."
