Vinos Valtuille is a small family-run winery founded at the start of the century. Marcos Garcia, its founder, is part of the new generation of winemakers in El Bierzo.
Valtuille Pago de Valdoneje is made from 80-year-old vines growing on south-facing slopes at an altitude of between 600 and 700 metres.
The soils are clayey, sandy and contain iron-rich substrates. The grapes are harvested by hand, late in the season, to ensure optimal ripeness.
Tasting notes:
On the nose, red fruit intertwines with smoky and liquorice notes, as well as a hint of balsamic.
This aromatic profile is complemented by good balance and lovely depth on the palate.
It is fresh and spicy – a real delight!
Food and wine pairings:
Braised veal chop with seasonal vegetables.
Roast venison loin with blackcurrant jus, salsify and beetroot.
